The more things you do, the more you can do.

"If you want something done, ask a busy person to do it. The more things you do, the more you can do." - Lucille Ball.

No doubt that this has been one of the busiest month for me and we're not even half way through! Not that I'm complaining. Work is very demanding right now. Designing and producing CDs (construction documents) for two projects that are over 50k sq. ft. That's not bad I guess but did I mention that they have to be moved in by October 1st? Yes I'm still designing and have to accommodate client changes but drop dead date doesn't change. For them to move in by October - construction needs to be done mid to late August and it's July. Yikes! I've been putting in A LOT of hours at work but I don't mind (most of the time) because I love designing! :) I can't wait til they're finished! Anyhow on top my full time work, I've been busy with my photography as well and my personal/social life! I feel like I've been nonstop since the last week of June. Went to Austin for a weekend for my friend Diana's Bachelorette Party (I'll do another post about her - it's a really neat story!). Then worked for about 50 hours then drove to KCMO on Friday for July 4th weekend. Had a great time! It's always nice spending time with family. I worked 44 hours in 3 days last week. Friday I drove down to Corpus Christi for my friend Diana's wedding (I was asked to be their photographer :)) Oh did I mention that Corpus is 7.5 hour drive from Rockwall? I got up at way early on Friday - took the kids for a long walk, I managed to get a short run, packed my bags and hit the road. The wedding was a blast! It was a little chaotic at first but we got some things in control. They (the bride and groom) were so impressed with my "get it done" attitude that they want me to be their wedding planner and photographer for their big wedding in Philippines next year or so! They'll be paying me by buying my ticket there! I'm excited!

I turned down a last minute photography job that was offered to me on Wednesday for Saturday because I did promise my friend that I would stay in Corpus and hang out... anyhow..got up early Sunday morning to head back home. Got home around 2:30 took the kids for a walk pack my lights and backdrop and left the house for a photoshoot. Got home around 6:30 - didn't feel like cooking so I ordered out. Replied to a million emails I didn't get a chance to response to over the weekend. Did a few hours of work at home. Today I got an email from a friend asking if I can photograph an event this Friday (of course I said yes! oh and the venue - one of the buildings I worked on! How cool is that?). I have a birthday party to photograph Saturday afternoon then the Boudoir Photography Marathon on Sunday from 9-4 - gotta head back home after that to get ready for our two year anniversary dinner and Michael Buble concert.

I booked 2 family portraits for the following weekend and the last weekend of the month I have a wedding to photograph (on the venue - one of the building I worked on as well! :) On top of all this I have some personal projects that I want to get done before the end of the month. I'm glad the website design projects I was offered has been pushed back. I'm really excited about this one! He wants me to photograph his company's projects (engineering/general contractor) to put on the websites - I finally get to put two of my professions together - Architectural Photography! - I'm excited about designing the website as well - all three of them! Somewhere in between there I have to start designing wedding invitations for my friend!

No matter how busy I am, I love it! I love that I get to design these spaces that will be there for years to come. It's always nice to pass by a building and say that I design that office. :) I'm also very happy that I'm booking photography jobs! I love hearing that people love my pictures! If I book at least one job a month I will be more than happy! I'm looking into another area I tap into - I figured with my creativity, get-it-done attitude, bossiness, organizational and people skills - I would do good in wedding/event planning. I love planning events especially weddings! I have a couple of volunteers already so we'll see! :)
