As I mentioned, last night, I lacked the energy and motivation to work out at all and Vince showed up and helped me push through my workouts. During my cool down, I was telling him that during the Saturday Strength and Conditioning Class, I am now able to do pull ups with the black band without much problem instead of the green band. I told him maybe one day, if I keep at it with the black band, I will be able to do a pull up all on my own. He said "I bet you can do one now" and I told him that I doubt it. I've tried and I still just can't pull myself up. He challenged me and naturally, Challenge Accepted. I told him the issues I'm having when it comes to pull ups. He explained certain things to me and gave me pointers.
There I go, jumping up there and assuming the position of a pull up. I thought to myself, no way I'm going to leave this hanging position. With the camera in hand and words of encouragement, Vince said go and I honestly don't know where I drew the energy or strength from (I was extremely tired from my workout already) but I pulled myself up! I did a pull up! All on my own and then another and then another and then another! I couldn't believe it! I was so proud of myself. Vince showed me the pictures and video and I was just in cloud nine. To many, this may not be a big deal but it was and still is a huge deal to me to be able to do a pull up all on my own. This was exactly what I needed with the kind of days I've had. The pictures also took me by surprised with how toned my back is! I guess because I don't ever see my back! I'm really toning up! Victory for me! Goal is to do 10 pull ups in a row, soon hopefully!
